Cycling to school is one of the simplest, most effective ways to build daily movement into a child’s routine. Join us for the full Children’s Bike Bus Week by organising a Bike Bus at your school and helping kids build active, lifelong habits. And if you are a PE teacher, parent, or school champion in our focus city of Utrecht, join our flagship activation on September 25th to help us fill the streets with as many active, joyful Bike Busses as possible!

When:
September 25th, celebrating European School Sport Day (ESSD) during the European Week of Sport (23-30th September).
Where:
It takes place outside of your regular PE curriculum hours by turning the morning school commute into active, daily movement.
What is the goal?
We are getting kids active across Europe by cycling to school.
Whether you are anywhere in Europe or teaching in our flagship city of Utrecht, our goal is to help you start a Bike Bus and turn one great day into a lasting healthy habit.

What is a bike bus?
A bike bus is a group of children and adults that travel together to and/or from school, primarily by bike, but also scooters, cargo bikes, skateboards, walking, and more.
It usually has a set weekly schedule and route, with set start, finish, and stops along the way depending on how many schools it serves.
And what is BBA?
Every child deserves a safe route to school. The Bike Bus Accelerator helps families and teachers build the bike buses that make that normal.
Today’s corridors are tomorrow’s bike streets. On 3 July, Barcelona families will ride a citywide prototype of streets designed for people, not just traffic.
One year in, the movement is scaling: bike buses are growing across the focus cities of Barcelona, Lisbon, Vienna, Glasgow, Utrecht and Copenhagen.
